Your mission
The Manufacturing Product Engineer is responsible for industrializing, supporting, and continuously improving automotive electronic products in mass production. The role ensures compliance with automotive quality standards, drives zero-defect manufacturing, and supports high-reliability production environments.
The engineer acts as the technical bridge between R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure stable, efficient, and compliant production processes.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- New Product Introduction (NPI) & Industrialization
- Lead product transfer from R&D to mass production.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as IATF 16949.
- Support APQP activities (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
- Drive production transfers from/to other locations when necessary
- Determine and provide relevant product data from ERP/SAP system
- Process Development & Validation
- Define process flow, control plans, and PFMEA.
- Lead equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Production Line Technical Support
- Lead structured root cause analysis (5 Why, 8D, Fishbone).
- Lead downtime and OEE improvements.
- Automotive Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with: ISO and IATF standards
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Lead containment and corrective actions for customer complaints.
- Support warranty and field return analysis.
- Continuous Improvement & Yield Optimization
- Improve First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce DPPM.
- Drive scrap and rework reduction initiatives.
- Improve process robustness for zero-defect targets.
- Change Management & Risk Control
- Manage Engineering Changes (ECN/ECO).
- Update Control Plans and PFMEA after process changes.
- Supplier & Component Engineering Support
- Support supplier quality investigations.
- Validate alternative components in production processes.
- Cost & Capacity Management
- Support cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
- Plan production ramp-up for new automotive programs.
Your profile
1) Education: Bachelor’s degree in: Electronics Engineering or/and electrical Engineering or mechatronics or Industrial Engineering (with electronics focus)
2) Experience:
- 5+ years in electronics manufacturing; min 1 year (mid-level) in automotive electronics manufacturing
- experience with SMT and PCB assembly and testing processes
- experience working under automotive quality systems is an advantage
3) Required Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PCB assembly & SMT processes
- Root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone)
- Statistical analysis & process capability
- Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC)
- Knowledge of typical Key Performance Indicators: First Pass Yield (FPY), DPPM, OEE, process capability (Cpk)
4) Competencies:
- Analytical and data-driven mindset
- Strong cross-functional communication (include F2F and online presentations)
- Structured problem-solving approach; results oriented
- High accountability and quality orientation
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Language: fluency in English; German is an advantage
